About ARC

Since 1989, Architectural Restoration Castings Company has won a reputation as one of the leading producers of GFRC castings in the Eastern United States. By combining its dedication to accurately reproducing replications of historic design elements with modern materials and production techniques, ARC combines art and technology to meet its clients' needs.

It's facilities, located in Ambridge in the Greater Pittsburgh area, include 3-D CAD design facilities, sculpting studio, mould making shop, production, and finishing facilities. The production area includes 17,000 sq. ft. of mould and casting shop, supported by an additional 30,000 of curing, finishing and storage facilities.

With its emphasis on castings for historic replication, ARC has the capability of making exact reproductions of existing pieces, or sculpting replications in clay to be used for mold making. Advanced finishing techniques allow faithful replication of existing finishes, including the appearance of mottled terra cotta.

ARC's clients include many of the leading architectural firms on the East Coast and Mid-West, and has produced fine art castings for award winning sculptors, including Ray Kaskey and Diana Moore. Its sculptural castings have won GSA Design Excellence Awards for Kaskey's National Building Museum corner markers and Diana Moore's Louisiana courthouse urns.

In addition to commercial building projects, ARC has completed installations at American University, University of Delaware, Penn State University, Georgetown University, University of Pittsburgh, Mansfield State University, John Marshall University, and others.

Historic replication projects have included the Warner Theater in Washington, DC, Winterthur Museum in Delaware, The Lincoln Building on 42nd St. in New York, The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Rose Building, Huntington Bank, The Art Factory and others in Cleveland, Chicago, Winston-Salem, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York.
